Answer to Question 1

Continental glaciers are not confined by topography like valley glaciers but cover vast areas, flowing
outward in all directions from areas of accumulation. Continental glaciers are vast and cover all but the
highest mountains. The glaciers can form a continuous ice sheet.

Answer to Question 2

Valley glaciers are confined to mountain valleys where they flow from higher to lower elevations.
Valley glaciers are like streams with tributaries, and form a network within a system of mountain
valleys. The shape of a valley glacier is controlled by the valley it is in. Most terminate on land, but
some terminate in the sea
