Answer to Question 1

Answer: Ground moraines form when ablation exceeds the nourishment of a glacier. The glacial ice is still flowing forward, but the terminus is retreating, so the sediment melting out of the ice form is deposited on the ground as the terminus retreats, creating an undulating plain strewn with rocks. This process relates to climate change because glacial retreat generally indicates a warming climate.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Ocean cores show evidence for up to 20 glaciations, not simply 4.
