Answer to Question 1

Answer: A glacial forebulge forms when a massive ice sheet pushes down on the crust. This pushes down on the upper mantle, which responds by moving mantle material away from the glacier and out in front of the ice sheet where the pressure is less. As a result, the mantle bulges upward along the margins of the glacial ice.
