Answer to Question 1

Answer: B

Answer to Question 2

Answer: In both cases, the events are slides, which means that the materials are moving as relatively intact masses. With a translational slide, the slip plane is flat and can be preexisting. Material only moves downslope. With a rotational slide, the slip plane is concave and is created at the time the materials start moving. Material will move both downward and outward as it rotates.
