Answer to Question 1

Answer: A

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Not all planetesimals and embryos accreted to form planets. Many of the small objects left in the inner solar system fell into the Sun. Hundreds of other objects were flung to the outer edges of the solar system to form sort of a planetary junkyard called the Kuiper BeltSeveral dozen embryos escaped further collisions to become the moons trapped by the gravitational field of various planets. Some of the leftover debris still spins as rings around the outer planets, most notably Saturn. In addition, a cluster of irregularly shaped, rocky planetesimals called asteroids form an orbiting belt between Mars and Jupiter.
