Answer to Question 1

ANS: C

Answer to Question 2

ANS: C
Warming the skin (to approximately 42 C) causes dilation of the underlying blood vessels, which increases capillary flow well above tissue needs. Blood gas values resemble those in the arterial circulation. This is why a sample obtained from a warmed capillary site is often referred to as arterialized blood.
