Answer to Question 1

ANS: D
The appropriate pieces of equipment needed to deliver a continuous heated aerosol are listed in Box 6-5. An ultrasonic nebulizer should not be used because it has an increased risk of causing bronchospasm with continuous use.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: C
Passover and wick type of humidifiers present less risk of cross-contamination than does the ul-trasonic nebulizer as a room humidifier, which can easily become contaminated, resulting in air-borne transmission of pathogens.
