Answer to Question 1

ANS: D
Jet nebulizers typically operate at a flow of 6 L/min to 15 L/min.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B
Ultrasonic nebulizers generate bland aerosols and aid the delivery of sterile water and hypotonic, isotonic, or hypertonic saline aerosols. They are very effective when used to induce sputum pro-duction for laboratory testing. Ribavirin is aerosolized in the small-particle aerosol generator model 2 (SPAG-2). Pentamidine is aerosolized in the Circulaire or Respirgard type of nebulizers that have filters to remove the aerosol before it is emitted into the environment.
