Answer to Question 1

B
A small tidal volume on the mechanical ventilator and all of the other listed options can decrease a patient's ability to generate a negative intrapleural pressure.

Answer to Question 2

D
Enoxaparin, dalteparin, and tinzaparin are all lowmolecular weight heparins that are anticoagulants used in the prevention of pulmonary emboli. Reteplase is a thrombolytic used in the treatment, not prevention, of pulmonary emboli.
