The nurse should write a summary evaluation/performance review of the employee after the interval designated by the facility. This should be done after observing the staff person in a number of different situations delivering care to a variety of clients. The nurse should write a few notes immediately after each observation and schedule a time to meet with the staff member and ask for his or her input.
