Answer to Question 1

C
Feedback:
Approximately 90 of all positions are filled based on personal contacts. Many positions are not advertised or are advertised after the employer already has a prospective employee in mind. Doing homework and expanding one's professional network increases the chances of obtaining a desired position.

Answer to Question 2

D
Feedback:
Secondary polycythemia is the result of an increase in the hormone erythropoietin, which stimulates RBC production. The reason for the stimulus to increase RBC production is hypoxia. Causes of hypoxia and resulting polycythemia include smoking, heart and lung disease, and living at high altitudes.
