Answer to Question 1

D
Feedback:
Radioactive iodine uptake is the radiographic evaluation test used to evaluate the function of the thyroid gland. The nurse should ask the client to avoid shellfish and iodized salt 1 week before the test, instead of just reducing the amount of salt in food. The nurse should also inform the client that the radiation will not cause any dangerous side effects to the client. The nurse should instruct the client to take the test on an empty stomach and not after breakfast.

The mixture of cocaine, saliva, and resin numbed the site enough to allow hours of drilling.
