Answer to Question 1

B
Feedback:
The nurse should not touch the person's equipment or helper animal. Many clients consider equipment as an extension of themselves. It is important not to distract the helper animal. In addition, the animal is often trained to protect the client; the animal may misunderstand these intentions. It is recommended to refer to clients as a person with a disability, rather than as a disabled person. (Each person has many abilities and only a few disabilities.) The nurse may offer to assist clients, if needed, but should not force help.

Answer to Question 2

A
Feedback:
In many cases of poisoning, gastric lavage (pumping the stomach) is more therapeutic when performed promptly after ingestion of the poison. Emetic medication is administered only when specifically instructed by the poison control center or a physician. Administering sugar and supporting the BP are required when treating hypoglycemic shock.
