Answer to Question 1

C
Feedback:
A continuum of lifestyle options (the continuing care retirement community) is available for clients of all ages, but particularly seniors. These include independent living with or without community-based services, assisted living in one's own home or home care, subacute placement, skilled nursing care, and short- or long-term care/rehabilitation in a healthcare facility. Sometimes, a single corporation owns/manages all these facilities; residents can move among them with a minimum of red tape.

Answer to Question 2

D
Feedback:
An enteric-coated tablet should not be crushed into a powder, because the medication irritates the stomach mucosa. The tablet is enteric-coated so that the coating does not dissolve until the tablet reaches the intestine. Medications that taste unpleasant are mixed with a syrup or sweetener to mask the taste. Orally disintegrating tablets are designed to improve medication compliance; these tablets usually dissolve when in contact with moisture and melt in the client's mouth.
