Answer to Question 1

A
Feedback:
A noted pain theorist, Margo McCaffery, states in her classic writing that Pain is whatever the experiencing person says it is, existing whenever he says it does. In its clinical practice guidelines for acute pain management, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) states that the client's self-report is the single best indicator of pain. The definition of pain in a medical dictionary includes a feeling of distress, suffering, or agony, caused by stimulation of specialized nerve endings. Its purpose is chiefly protective; it acts as a warning that tissues are being damaged and induces the sufferer to remove or withdraw from the source (Miller-Keane & O'Toole, 2003).

Answer to Question 2

D
Feedback:
Seborrheic dermatitis is an inflammatory condition that erupts on body areas such as the scalp, eyebrows, eyelids, ears, axillae, and the groin, which have a large concentration of sebaceous glands. Seborrheic dermatitis is a condition that is characterized by excessive sebaceous discharge that forms large scales or a cheese-like plug on the body called seborrhea and often has associated with itching. Furuncles, not seborrheic dermatitis, are found frequently in areas of hair-bearing skin or skin with a large number of hair follicles. Thicker dermal tissue, increased number of pigment cells, and large number of hair follicles are not associated with seborrheic dermatitis. Thick dermal tissue, as seen in the palms and feet, does not predispose such areas to seborrheic dermatitis. The eyebrows do not have many pigment cells.
