Answer to Question 1

D
Feedback:
The nurse should measure the degree of edema in terms of millimeters when performing a skin test. The degree of edema indicates the severity of the allergic reaction. Millimeters are metric equivalents of meters, used to measure length. Degree of edema is not measured in centimeters or inches; they are used for much bigger measurements. Although micrometers are metric equivalents of length, they are used for smaller measurements and not to measure the degree of edema in skin testing.

Answer to Question 2

C
Feedback:
An example of pathogenic yeast is Candida albicans, which causes the disease known as thrush. Algae are an important part of the environmental food chain and rarely cause human disease. Infections, such as ringworm and athlete's foot, are caused by fungus. Molds are common in the environment.
