Holiday scheduling is always a sensitive issue on your unit, and the manager is trying something different this year. She says that whoever works the most extra shifts when asked to do so will get first pick for the holiday schedule.

Conversely, in sacrifice resolution one may strongly want to avoid or end the conflict and will therefore accommodate the other by essentially sacrificing his or her position, thus allowing the other to have his or her way.
