Rationale: A radiographic system with APR displays preconfigured exposure factors when the technologist selects an anatomic area. Factors such as kVp and mAs for the particular area are automatically displayed. AEC cells may also be predetermined by the APR.

the petrous pyramids fall below the maxillary sinuses

Rationale: A properly positioned Water's method raises the chin until the MML is perpendicular to the IR. If the MML is truly perpendicular, the petrous pyramids will drop below the level of maxillary sinuses.
