Rationale: A thermoluminescent dosimeter (TLD) appears similar to a film badge, but contains crystals that undergo change with ionizing radiation. When heated the crystals emit energy in the form of light equivalent to exposure absorbed.

Rationale: The sinus tarsi is an opening created by the 3 articulation points between the talus and the calcaneus to allow for ligaments to pass through.
