Answer to Question 1

This might bother some students. Some  perhaps especially a conservative Muslim or Christian  might argue that God's Word could not be so open to change or interpretation. How much religion can or, simply, does change might be a lively debate, opening up a chance to connect the discussion of religion to issues of global social change.

Answer to Question 2

They might well like the idea of religious diversity, although if one adds speculations on salvation (What if Islam is right and unbelievers' go to hell?), or if one adds more cultic or dangerous examples of religion (Jim Jones, Heaven's Gate), the students' common pluralistic optimism might be challenged.
