Answer to Question 1

ANS: C
Dobutamine, a relative of dopamine, increases myocardial contractility but produces little systemic arterial constriction. It is incompatible with alkaline solutions.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
If lidocaine is contraindicated, then procainamide is used to suppress PVCs and tachycardia that is recurrent. Hypotension may occur if the infusion is too rapid.
