Answer to Question 1

ANS: B
A benign tumor is an aggregation of cells that closely resemble those of the parent tissue of origin; it grows slowly by expansion, is localized, and surrounded by a capsule of fibrous tissue.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: T
Because safety is the prime concern throughout the OR, a time out is performed to correctly identify the patient, confirm procedure and site, medications and allergies, along with any special equipment or implants. The patient is included in the time out as condition permits. The timeout is documented.
