Answer to Question 1

A
A goal of deinstitutionalizat ion was to address the individual's right to least restrictive care. However, this practice did not ensure individuals would receive the support, monetary funds, and treatment needed to function adequately outside of the institutions. Many persons with schizophrenia are currently homeless, starving, and lacking appropriate treatment.

Answer to Question 2

B
Nurses should encourage an adolescent to keep a journal. In the journal the individual can record his or her feelings related to control. Each day the person can record in private how control or lack of control was present in their interactions with family, friends, and other individuals in society. They may also record how they feel regarding their ability to control their own behavior.
