Answer to Question 1

C
Providing care to psychotic or suicidal inmates are the most significant mental health challenges in prison. The instances of suicide and attempted suicide is of particular concern in county jails and other high turnover correctional facilities. Interestingly, studies have shown that instances of psychosis occur in the prison population at about the same rate as in the outside population.

Answer to Question 2

A
Some issues that are beyond the individual's coping skills cannot be addressed effectively with self-care practices. In those situations, nurses should identify a support group. When nurses join forces, they are able to give each other exactly what is needed for empowerment. Support groups can be a place for tremendous growth and learning.
