Answer to Question 1

C

Answer to Question 2

A
Behavioral change is slow and difficult, especially for one who sees no advantage to change. It is not unrealistic for a nurse to become frustrated with a lack of progress. Focusing on strengths changes the nurse's perspective from negative to positive. Focusing on patient strengths also is important lest patients receive constant negative messages from staff members. Vigilant observation is expected but will not likely minimize staff frustration; ignoring frustration is not a positive outcome of clinical experience or an appropriate staff coping mechanism.
