Answer to Question 1

A
Ideas of reference are misinterpretations of the verbalizations or actions of others wherein the patient believes the behaviors have special meanings relative to him. For example, seeing two people talking, the individual assumes they are talking about him or her. Hallucinations are a misinterpretation of internal stimuli as being external reality, a delusion is a persistent irrational belief, and echolalia is repeating the words of others.

Answer to Question 2

D
The sick role is the stage of illness in which an individual accepts the illness and focuses on treatment and/or recovery. Dependency is stage 4 of illness and is characterized by relying on and accepting the attention of others. The appearance of symptoms is the first stage of illness and refers to notice of an undesirable change and awareness that something is not right; recovery and rehabilitation constitute stage 5 of illness.
