  • That the urn, whose world had seemed perfect, is in some ways limited and desolate. The altar cannot be reached nor sacrifice fulfilled, nor can the unseen little town ever be returned to.

  • As a draftsmans compass will illustrate, the fixed central foot leans forward when the compass is extended, as if, in Donnes comparison, eager for its mates return.
