The two main disadvantages of running a car on vegetable oil are:

1 . It can clog the fuel lines if the system is not flushed properly.
2 . People report that their automobiles give off a slight odor of whatever food was last cooked in the oil.

The two main advantages of running a car on vegetable oil are:

1 . The car gives off very few harmful emissions when compared to cars running on petroleum-based fuels.
2 . Vegetable oil is a renewable fuel source.
