For a hypothesis test with the independent-measures t statistic, the null hypothesis states that the two population means are the same and the homogeneity assumption states that the two population variances are the same.
 
  Indicate whether the statement is true or false

Question 2

Last week Sarah had exams in Math, Spanish and English. On the Math exam, the mean was  = 40 with  = 5 and Sarah had a score of X = 45. On the Spanish exam, the mean was  = 60 with s = 8 and Sarah had a score of X = 68. On the English exam, the mean was  = 70 with s = 8 and Sarah had a score of X = 78. For which class should Sara expect the better grade?
 
  A) Math
  B) Spanish
  C) English
  D) Grades are the same.
