Answer to Question 1

Obstacles to the adoption of organic practices by farmers include the risks of shifting to a new way of farming, a limited awareness of organic farming systems, and the lack of marketing and infrastructure.
Producers are switching to organic farming to lower input costs, address concerns over use of synthetic pesticides, practice good land stewardship, and potentially boost farm income. Many organically raised crops sell for a premium price compared to conventionally produced crops.

Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
