Answer to Question 1

The disadvantages are that weeds growing up to the wire can ground the current flow, and that the
fence must have access to an electrical outlet.

Answer to Question 2

Two types of landscape fences include wooden and masonry, although a few landscape fences are
constructed of wrought iron. Masonry fences are durable and considered permanent, and can act as
retaining walls to hold soil on a hillside. Wooden fences are built from boards that have been treated to
prevent decay, and may be used for horse pastures.
