(1) Wear a face shield. (2) Always check the grinding wheel for cracks or damage before use. Do not
use a wheel that shows any sign of damage. (3) Be sure to use wheels that are designed for the
machine. (4) Tighten the wheel securely and carefully. (5) Never use a grinding wheel that is less than
one-half of its original diameter. (6) When preparing to grind small pieces, secure them in a vise, if
possible. (7) Do not grind metal in areas of combustible gases or materials. (8) Hold the machine with
both hands at all times. (9) Do not discharge sparks against persons, clothing, or other combustible
materials.
