Answer to Question 1

False. Insects cause more damage than any other single forest problem.

Answer to Question 2

Analyze the situation. What is available in terms of size of forest, types of trees, age, quality, problems, and
other factors?
Decide on the objectives. What do you want from the forest? Short-term profit? Erosion control? Long-term profit?
Develop a management plan. What steps will allow you to reach your objectives with the forest resources you
have available?
Measure the results. To what degree are you progressing? Did you reach your goals?
