Answer to Question 1

A board foot is defined as a piece of rough wood 1 foot long, 1 foot wide, and 1 inch thick, or the equivalent.

A cubic foot of wood is the amount of wood that would be required to fill a space 1 foot wide, 1 foot thick, and
1 foot high.
A standard cord of wood is defined as a stack of wood 4 feet  4 feet  8 feet.



Answer to Question 2

We are using 800 percent more paper and 70 percent more wood today than in 1900 and we are doing it on less
forested area
