That volume of water is referred to as an acre inch. An acre inch of water equals 3,630 cubic feet of water or just
over 27,152 gallons.

Membrane process (includes reverse osmosis and electrodialysis).
 Distillation (includes long tube, vapor compression, and flash distillation).


Toilets, 40 percent.
 Bathing, 30 percent.
 Laundry and dish washing, 20 percent.
 Drinking and cooking, 5 percent.
 All other uses, 5 percent
