Answer to Question 1

Terrariums were originally invented around 1850 as a way of transporting living
plants from the far parts of the world, when sea voyages took months or years to
complete.

Answer to Question 2

1 Decide on plants based on personal preference, growing conditions, room
design/furnishings, and plant characteristics.
2 Determine where plants are to be located based on room architecture, space
available, level in the room, and color of walls/material in the room.
3 Know how to care for the plants by properly acclimating them, bringing the plants
to the site safely, and properly controlling environmental conditions such as
temperature, humidity, light, water, growing media, fertilization, and use of
integrated pest management.
