Answer to Question 1

Landscape plants can be produced for sale more quickly by asexual propagation
techniques, such as rooting stems, layering, and division. Asexual propagation also
helps to ensure that the plants are perfect clones to ensure proper plant quality for
landscape nurseries



Answer to Question 2

Girdling helps to promote root development. Any girdled stem should root faster
than an ungirdled stem.
