Answer to Question 1

A compound light microscope should be used when you want to look at details of
objects that are barely visible with the unaided eye or at objects not visible to the
unaided eye. Very thin sections of macroscopic objects such as leaves, twigs, or animal
tissues should also be examined with a compound light microscope for detail.

Answer to Question 2

Ocular  Objective = Total Magnification
