Sustainable horticulture refers to the science and practice of using an integrated system
of plant production processes that make the most efficient use of nonrenewable
resources, sustain the economic viability of horticultural operations, and enhance both
environmental quality and the quality of life for society as a whole



Answer to Question 2

Job opportunities in horticulture include a range of business, such as greenhouses,
nurseries, garden centers, golf courses, parks, orchards, floral design shops, grounds
maintenance operations, high tunnels, and vegetable and fruit growers. Specialty areas
within Sustainable horticulture include biodynamics, (organic) horticulture,
permaculture, enhancement landscaping, and hydroponics.
