Answer to Question 1

People were concerned about BST because it was discovered that large doses can cause
inflammation of the cow's udders, and this may be a sign that the hormone is not safe.
However, cows are given only small doses, and no ill effects have been discovered.

Answer to Question 2

Bacteria are added to milk during the yogurt production process to cause the milk to
ferment.
