How can you tell the difference between a scale insect and a mealybug?

Answer to Question 1

Mealybugs are white and cottony appearing. Scales are brown and hard.

Answer to Question 2

LED lights are cheaper to operate, produce about the same amount of heat, and are longer lasting.
