What is the difference between the pruning of a bare-root plant and that of a container-grown plant at planting?

Answer to Question 1

A bare-root plant must be pruned more at planting because its roots are not established in a root ball and the plant will be unable to absorb water and nutrients immediately. This will reduce the top to balance it with the sparse root system.
