Answer to Question 1

C
When providing ethical care, the nurse is to initiate dialogue concerning the patient's wishes. More listening than talking should be done. The nurse should assess the patient's understanding of the illness and available treatment options. The nurse should allow time for the patient to explore values and to communicate. In addition, the nurse should facilitate communication of the patient's desires to family and other health care providers, and facilitate the development of advance directive resources.

Answer to Question 2

D
Stress and financial pressures are problem areas for adults within ineffective health maintenance. Inadequate nutrition is a problem area for infants within ineffective health maintenance. Peer pressure and unhealthy choices are problem areas for adolescents within ineffective health maintenance.
