Bradypnea is respiratory rate of 10 or fewer breaths per minute. Eupnea refers to respirations that are easy with a normal rate of breaths per minute that are age-specific. Hypoventilation is characterized by shallow slow respirations. Hyperventilation is characterized by deep rapid respirations.
