Answer to Question 1

D
The 1960s were a decade of growth and change. As technologic advances increased the scope of practice of medicine and nursing, other societal forces were at play to include the inception of nurse practitioners and a focus on health maintenance.

Answer to Question 2

A
Patients in isolation should be placed in a private room with adequate ventilation and have their own supplies. All articles leaving the room should be double-bagged. Signs should be posted in a prominent location outside of the patient's room indicating isolation precautions and preparation needed before entering the room. The isolation supplies should be outside of the patient's room, not inside.
