The nurse is asked to participate in a parent-teacher meeting regarding a 10-year-old child with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. A decision is made to move the child's desk away from other students.
 
  A few days later, the child tells the nurse, No one like me. I'm not even part of the class anymore because I'm way off to the side. The nurse's best response is: 1. If you would agree to stop distracting others, you could have your desk moved back to where it was.
  2. You are an important part of the class. Your desk was moved to make it easier for you to concentrate on your work.
  3. This is only a temporary punishment. I'll see when you can move back.
  4. You feel isolated having your desk off to the side. Why do you suppose this was done?
