Answer to Question 1

D
The lungs assist with ventilation, the movement of air in and out of the lungs, and diffusion, the movement of gases between air spaces and the bloodstream. Respiration is the exchange of oxy-gen and carbon dioxide during cellular metabolism. The heart supports perfusion, the movement of blood into and out of the lungs to the body's organs and tissues.

Answer to Question 2

C
Some patients are more in need of discharge planning because of the risks they have. For example, some patients have limited financial resources or limited family support;
others may have long-term disabilities or chronic illnesses. Early discharge teaching is especially important as a way to decrease readmission to the hospital.
