Answer to Question 1

D
Although the doctor may have prescribed increased fluid intake, this does not explain why it is important. Fluids do not prevent the growth of pathogens. Fluids do not flush out the lungs because they do not, normally, enter the lungs. Fluids help to thin secretions and keep them from becoming thick and gluelike, which would be much harder to mobilize. Thin secretions will reduce the effort required by the patient to cough mucus into the larger airways and expectorate it.

Answer to Question 2

D
It is often believed that Leaders are born, not made. Some of us are considered natural leaders; others are not. Early research on leadership attempted to identify traits that distinguish a leader from a nonleader. Traits most often identified are intelligence and initiative. Other traits identified were excellent interpersonal skills, high self-esteem, creativity, willingness to take risks, and ability to tolerate the consequences of risks. Leadership comes more easily to some individuals.
