The manager does not have time to explain decisions and provide the opportunity for clarification. Supporting would not be the situational leadership style of choice. The manager does not need to share ideas and facilitate decision making of other employees at this time. Directing is a highly directive style of leadership. The manager needs to delegate, not provide specific instructions and close supervision.
