Answer to Question 1

ANS: D
Giving the patient factual information is best. The nurse can follow up on this statement by asking the patient if the medication is affecting his sexuality. Bad side effects is vague, as is any sexual problems. Written information may be helpful, but the patient may not be literate and this does not allow the nurse to be engaged with the patient.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B
Although all options would improve care for these patients, a SART (Sexual Abuse Response Team) approach offers comprehensive, evidence-based practice for these patients.
